How sweet it is!!

These images are the result of a mini artist date where I visited a bakery that I’d read about in a local magazine, 4 and Twenty Blackbirds Bakeshop in Guilford, CT.  Honestly, I was trying to kill two birds (no pun intended) with one stone.  I could potentially get some interesting items to photograph and have a killer desert plate for Laura tonight to celebrate the beginning of her maternity leave.  The hardest part was not eating the subjects as I photographed them…..

Artist Date: Target

This is the result of my most recent Artist Date at Target.  It was just some random wandering through the aisles.  It reminded me of being back in school at Hallmark.  I wonder if they ever did any “sales analysis” type work at the Target in Hadley, MA.  “We have great sales numbers, but our return rate is higher than any other store in the country.  Usually from the end of October until late May.  Hmmmmm.”

Sometimes I have an idea or a theme that I’ve been kicking around.  This was not one of those times.  I didn’t really know what I wanted to do.  I wound up in the infant section.  Of course, I have lots of baby stuff on my mind these days, but it usually manifests itself as a long list of things that I have to accomplish in a shrinking period of time (currently, we’re looking at 12/18 OMG!!!): paint the room, assemble the crib, stay on top of paperwork, appointments, etc.  It’s a decidedly uncreative (but very necessary!) list.

Anyway, these caught my eye and I just grabbed them.  And this is what came from it.  I don’t know where the images came from or what they might mean – I just did what I thought might be interesting.  I suppose sometimes they don’t really mean anything.  They are just part of the “working through” process.
